Shopify CSV required and dependent fields

Shopify's current product-CSV guidance distinguishes between a new-product import and an update. For new products, Title is required; variants also need a URL handle. For updates, Shopify says URL handle and Title are required.

Dependencies deserve their own review

Some values only make sense with their companion fields. Shopify specifically cautions that variant-related edits such as SKU or grams rely on the matching option name and option value. Omitting option columns can create a default variant and remove existing variants.

• Keep the header row first and use Shopify's documented column names.
• For each option, keep the name and value together.
• Do not treat a supplier category as a verified Product Category without a confirmed standard-taxonomy mapping.
